I found out that the 24 hour Christmas music began playing during the week of the 11th sometime. I know the usual channel I listen to on the radio began an internet site for playing Christmas music in early November, but I didn't turn my radio to Christmas music until the night before Thanksgiving.
This brings me to the question of "Can we have too much Christmas?". I like the music and all, but enough is enough, especially when they go weeks playing the same 100 songs or so. It also doesn't stop with the music, the stores began setting up their Christmas decorations the day after Halloween (which is the 31st of October).

We're not even a week out from Thanksgiving, and I'm already sick to death of Christmas. I got stuck on hold for close to 15 minutes today with Whirlpool customer service, and had to listen to 15 solid minutes of Christmas muzak. My administrative assistant is constantly blaring Christmas carols from her computer, and several of the local radio stations I usually listen to are playing 100% Christmas music. Ugh!!!
This is no longer a celebration of the birth of Christ - it's a media blitz focused on retail sales.
